Meet the Founders
"There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger & unhappiness" - Mahatma Gandhi
Founders Aleysha Campbell & Nicole Bennett
Co-founder Nicole Bennett started The Helm in 2015 after working on her eponymous label for several years.
"I first witnessed the skewed reality of the fashion industry whilst travelling throughout Asia.
I couldn't believe something so beautiful; an industry that looked so appealing & glamorous could have such horrendous effects on both humankind & our planet.
In my 3rd year of university, I wrote my thesis on fairtrade fashion.
It was then, I decided to set up my own label and do things a little different.
I set up The Helm with the hope of building this awareness, whilst simultaneously promoting those brands taking responsibility for their supply chain.
Co-founder Aleysha Campbell was drawn to The Helm after attending their first soiree - High Tea on the High Seas.
"I first met Nicole on a sunny trip by the sea devoted to encouraging a movement within society, one of integrity and I wanted to be apart of it"
