There are 3x keys to dressing your body shape…
Flaunt your assets
You carry your weight around your mid section and don’t have a well-defined waist. You do however have great legs and/or boobs, so flaunt them baby!
Show off your best bits, whether it is your boobs or legs… but remember dressing is a balancing act… choose 1x asset to flaunt at a time (Cleavage and short skirts only scream one thing)
Empire lines and longer length tops will flatter your figure
Low necklines will draw the eye upwards
Avoid adding volume round your middle section
Stay away from short boxy jackets … they are not your friend
Nor are pleated or tiered skirts
Bigger up the top than their bottom half because of broad shoulders and/or big boobs in relation to your waist and hips. Broad shoulders or big boobs can make you look top heavy, but here are a few simple ways to soften your shape…
Fuller skirt and wide leg trousers will balance out your body shape beautifully
Darker/brighter colours on the bottoms half
V necks and wrap tops are great for a big bust, plus the men love them!
Whatever you do, keep it simple on the top half
Shoulder pads & Epaulettes
Large waist belts only make your bust stand out even more as it frames the area, instead opt for longer more flowing lines from your hip and down
Many women would kill for your shape; there’s no main area you want to minimize and you can get away with most outfits. This means that your hips and bust are balanced and your waist is not very defined.
Structure is great for your figure when you clinch in at your waist with a belt … this will make you look more curvy
You can get away with high-necked tops, which are high in fashion so go crazy
Grab yourself a pair of high-high waisted, skinny leg jeans… Sexy as hell and will make you look extremely curvy
Do be confident and know that as mentioned previously, you can’t really do anything wrong… Enjoy it!
If anything, stay away from low rise jeans and trousers … this will make you more boxy
You have a fuller bust and bottom to contrast with the smaller waist… in other words, I’m jealous and you are lucky!
Flared or wide leg pants
Shapeless baggy jumpers – definitely don’t throw them out, just keep them for around the house
You are bottom heavy – bigger around the hips, bottom or thighs, and you probably have a fairly flat stomach (lucky thing!)
Work with that womanly figure by adding more shape and structure above the waist
Bright or printed tops are great
Tops with large collar, lapels or sleeves
Layer big chunky jewellery around your neck
Keep skirts and pants simple
Straight cut trousers are great to balance out your silhouette
Avoid pencil, tube and fishtail skirts – tight fitting ones will only emphasise your hips and your lovely behind
Skinny jeans again will not help you unfortunately, but lets face it, they are so uncomfortable!
